Good limo services for a trip to NYC? Hiya! My birthday is coming up soon, and I'm going to have a fun par-tay. I want to take me and my friends to the city, in a limo, and it's going to drive us around to a few places, then dinner, then back to my house. My parents are going to be paying for it, so it has to be somewhat affordable. Now, since it's my 13th birthday, they'll pay for it, but it has to be around the $350-$410 range, including tip and tax (if there is any). I live in north NJ, (Bergen County), so whether or not there's a sales tax, i don't know. Also, we'd be going on a weekday, because I noticed a few places that had specials for weekdays. I found two limos that I like, Chrysler 300 and Lincoln 8 passenger stretch, so help me get a good limo service!

Has anyone gone to the Matzoh Ball event in NYC? There is a crazy Jewish singles event going on December 24th. It is in 5 different clubs, with free limo service between each of them. http://nyc.letmypeoplego.com/jewish-singles.html?audience:int=0 It is 21 and over. I am fine, but my friend is 19. Does anyone know if they are strict?
LiMO SERViCE!? i need a limo for $600 for 10 hours- 10 passenger seat...is there any limo service for that price in Nyc...help!!!! (this is for a jr prom)
Party Bus Rental from NYC to Montreal? I'm going to Montreal for my Bachelor Party. Plane tickets are ridiculous, and we have at least 15 guys going, so we would need too many cars (not as fun in separate cars). I'm looking online for Party Bus Rentals that can go long distance but I keep coming across sketchy websites with no addresses. Does anyone in the NY area know of legitimate companies that offer these services or long distance limo companies. Thanks.
How would you plan a NYC honeymoon? My fiance and I are considering scrapping the Caribbean honeymoon idea and just spending a few days in NYC. We live in upstate, NY so we would either take a train or depending on cost, maybe hire a limo service to bring us to the city and back. I actually grew up in Queens though I am ashamed to say that I wouldnt even know where to begin with planning a NYC honeymoon. If this were your honeymoon, what would you do/see for a 3 day/2 night mid week honeymoon to NYC? Some side info: I love theatre and shopping. My fiance is computer and electronic obsessed and HATES sports. We both loveeee food.
Quirky restaurants for teens in NYC/Stamford area? I'm trying to plan my sweet sixteen (which is going to be something simple, probs only 10 to 12 people) and I was planning on having it at a restaurant either in NYC, Stamford, or Norwalk (or somewhere in between those places, I live in New Canaan - I just don't want more than an hour's worth of a commute), and then we'd go out and just hang around the city for a bit. Do you know any cool or quirky places (think some place like Ayza in NYC or Chocopologie in Norwalk, though they don't have to be chocolate themed...) Also, if you know a limo service with a website, that would be appreciated <3 Thanks in advance!
What is the best transport service from JFK to CT? I leave tomorrow, for NYC and then on to CT. I originally thought I was going to use the A-train, subway, and Metro-North Railroad to get to CT, but after studying this route, I'm not sure this is wise with luggage (small bag). Can anyone suggest a tried and true transport/limo/bus service? Thanks!
is it advisable to start a small limo service without all the registrationing and etc.? also, the nearby going rate for a train ticket to nyc is $22 round trip plus it takes 2 hrs. to get there....I can get them there in 45 min. I was thinking to run a small limo line right down my nearby highway to nyc...about a 45min. trip for a bunch of commuters...say 4 that can fit in my car daily?... I was thinking I can charge $15 roundtrip (which will be $60 per 1.5 hours of work) ..minus the small expenses like gas and maintanence...which won't be much since I drive a new honda how would other taxi services report me....you can't even tell my car is a limo and it is only 4 customers...you think other these people can't afford to take taxis or limo services to nyc...it would cost them $100 daily
Prom in NYC? Dress/ Etiquette Hahah? Short or long dress ? Usually I would already know that I would want to go in a long dress, but here's the thing is: For the first two years of high school, I went to a school-spirited, sports-supporting, genuinely suburban but good high school with awesome rallies, the works with a student body of 3,000 + (in CA). I now currently attend a school that has a liberal arts approach to learning and has 600 kids (in NY). My new school is simply not used to dances--the only real one they have is Prom for the seniors, and word has it that most of the girls are going to take this opportunity to ho it up you know? Like short short tight dresses. If I wear a long formal gown I might be way out of place? But I REFUSE to wear a slutty/okay-for-homecoming-dress to my Senior Prom.. Any suggestions for a Happy Medium? P.S. How does after prom work in NYC ? Like, does your date accompany you back to your place in the limo/car service even if he lives far away? Wompwomp teenage woes ;)

NYC Night Clubs for Bachelorette Party in July? Hello, I am planning a bachelorette party in a few months. There will be about 23 people attending. We have rented a limo to drive us around NYC. We are first going to dinner and then to the strip show Hunk-O-Mania. After that we would like to go out to a night club to dance and drink. We are looking for a club that has a vip table section, and bottle service. It will also be nice if they allowed bachelorette party accessories (a sash that says bride to be and pins that say bachelorette party for the attendees). We will also all be wearing wigs. I am having difficulty finding a place. The show we are seeing is in the Hell's Kitchen/ Theater District area, so we do not want to have to travel to far from there. We have also entertained the idea of a gay club, since we would prefer to not be hit on by guys but to just have a fun girls night out, however I don't know how accepting gay clubs are with that. All suggestions are greatly appreciated!! all that is written above is not a requirment to fit in one club, just all different suggestions and ideas to see what is out there. The only thing that will be 100% happening is us all wearing wigs. That is the theme. Thanks again!
wedding reception halls in NYC ? (queens/bk)? I've seen really great places. But before I make a choice I want to really visit all my options. My Guestlist is for 200 ppl. But we have drafted list that we can invited up to 260 and downsize to 120. But I'm really looking for a place that can accomodate 200+ So if anyone can give me they're opinion on reception halls in the queens brooklyn or long island area of NYC. And the prices if you know and what the packages include. So far I really like the Grand Prospect Hall $110 per person (+18% service charge and tax) But this place & service is jaw dropping And The Villa Russo which has an ALL inclusive package for 9995 for 100 people.. (+service charge & tax) and $59 each additional person. That includes dj, centerpieces, favors, a limo, a tux rental, photo & video coverage, cake, champagne and open bar. But I know there are some hidden treasures out there! The less money I spend on my reception, the more I can put on my house down payment. Esspecially these ppl who have weddings under 5k! Please tell me how u do it.
Was I right to leave the party (at a very hot NYC club)? A guy I barely know randomly invited me out to Lavo tonight for his Birthday. Lavo btw, is a very exclusive NYC nightclub. The text asked me to be "his date for the evening". I thought wtf, but what can I lose right? I knew this guy from a few months back, we met online and he took me around the hot NYC clubs one night. I did end up going home with him, and I slept over (we had sex). I was surprised he invited me, but I was excited to go. Hes a tall, 6'4 model, and has tons of monstously tall (and phony) friends who also went. I said hi when I got to his apt but it was akward. He kinda ignored me. We took a limo to the club. We had trouble getting in at first. I overheard him say "we can lose a few guys" - to the doorman, however he said it in a catty, serious way. He was referring to me and another guy at the party (who was brought by a friend). Although I did get in 10 mins later, I was very upset by the comment. He did wait for us by the door however, but I could not shake the rudeness so I left shortly after we got our bottle service and table. Pluse the club was packed and our VIP became a free-for-all. Did I make the right move by leaving without saying goodbye? I mean I was dressed well, spent hours getting ready, and I know I am an attractive gay man. What gives? It was a straight club (lots of tall slutty model types) and I'm 5'11 - but compared to some of the people I was a midget - Im talking like 6'-7"

Wedding wedding wedding? hey the name is star i got a couple of questions for you Y|A people only if you live in NYC 1. Where are some good wedding chapels and cheap? 2.Good limo service 3.How long should the engagement party last for? Noon Or Afternoon Saturday Or Sunday? 4.When is your big day and how long u and your souse been together?
prom troubles, what should we do? my prom is in 5 weeks, and my friends and I have to decide soon if we want a limo, because my mom has to book it for us. Anyways, when I told my friend the prices we found and stuff, everyone liked the idea. Then, one of my friends said she couldn't get the $133 for a limo ( we were splitting the cost between 6 people, including me). Then another one of my friends agreed that she couldn't get the $133 when she never mentioned anything before. So I told my mom, and she tried looking for cheaper limos, and stuff. We found a nice car taxi service for $85 bucks, but my mom still wants me to get a limo. Today, she showed me a cheaper limo service for a 10 hour package, for $795, and my mom told me she is offering to give me $250, so my friends would have to decide how to split $545 between the 5 of them, unless one of them is willing to chip in more for the cost. Now I do not know what to do, my mom just yelled at me before because we didn't have an answer and prom is coming real soon. What should I do about this? I try to get an answer and nothing is working but I have to get one asap because I do not want to get yelled at again. I already paid for prom so I have to go :/ Another thing is that we all have to meet up somewhere because we all live far away from each other but we all live in the same borough ( we live in NYC). My mom said to me before " then everyone would have to meet-up here" but do they have to meet me on my block? What if we wanted to have the limo meet us somewhere else, because we kind of wanted to take pictures with flowers behind us, like in a garden or something :/ What should I do about that too? if my age helps with this, I am 18.. but I do not think it does :/

Question on Make-A-Wish foundation -? I have donated over the years to the Make-A-Wish foundation - Today on CBS's Early show they did a short story about several underpriveleged families who were given wonderful trips to places they'd dreamed of going (Disneyworld, etc) - really heartwarming - these were very poor people who otherwise would never get to travel or experience anything like that. But here is my question - I personally know of a family who is very well off - the father has an extremely successful CPA firm with 6 regional offices, and he often brags about making so-an-so million dollars per year now, because he has become so big & successful. That's great, no problem. He and his wife have 2 sons, one was born with CP. (the other is fine, successful adult now). He contacted the local Make-A-Wish office and arranged an all expense paid luxury trip to Manhatten (they live in FL). They wanted to see some Broadways shows, and go to some of the tapings of the Late Night type shows (Leno [when he was still in NY], Letterman, etc). Of course some nice dinners at fine restaurants also. The trip that M-A-W set up for them included Limo service around town, the full works, very luxurious, wonderful 5 day trip to Manhatten (stayed at a very expensive hotel also). So that's that situation. They told M-A-W that their 15 yr old son with CP always wanted to do all these things. The husband, wife and child, along with 2 members of their local MAW foundation all went on the trip. The MAW members who went said they were escorts to take the family around from place to place in NYC. When I heard about this wonderful paid trip (I'm sure the total tab for all these people was pretty astronomical) I thought wow thats incredible, and I was very happy for them. But as I looked at what MAW does under normal circumstances, as seen on the AM news show today, they seem to take less fortunate, poorer, under priveleged children and families on their "dream trips". I just wondered if there was any charter with Make-A-Wish or not regarding financial situations - If an extremely wealthy multi-millionaire applies for a trip does he/she get the same treatment as a poor family with a handicapped child ? Its just a question. I am not going to say a word to my friends or M-A-W or anyone about this - not looking to rock any boats or start any problems at all. It is just something about the whole situation that didn't sit quite "well" with me. I think anyone that reads this story can understand why the whole thing bothers me a bit. Especially when you contribute to a charity - it would be like me finding out that Habitat for Humanity was building a luxury waterfront home for Bill Gates - now that would bother me too. Thanks for any input you can give me - hopefully there are some Make-a-Wish 'insider knowledge' people out there that can comment on this. Interesting answers - thanks - First person felt this might be an auditable abuse of the charitable system - Second person (who is apparently in the MAW organization) said that income (rich or poor) has NO bearing whatsoever - MAW sends rich children on trips just as much as poor children. Interesting 2 totally different responses. I would think the 2nd person (MAW member) would know for sure - so I'll assume that even Bill Gates could have his handicapped child taken on an all-expense paid trip to anywhere in the world courtesy of the thousands of Americans donating to MAW foundation.
How come I cant seem to meet anyone ever? Gay men? I have been to bars, clubs, craigslist, spent $500 on a dating service, date bait, qwik dates at the LGBT Center in NYC, and yet nothing. I have tried many different ways to meet guys, and always end up empty-handed. I have met a few guys from craigslist, most of whom end up being really strange and just ridiculous people. I have tried making friends at work (just friends) to no avail. I studied music for 18 years only to never get anywhere with that career. So now when I talk to people, I say I work at a limo company doing reservations. Also I'm balding, heavier than I've ever been, and have paralysis on one side of my face. But hey, it's not all looks, right, that's bs! And I have a right to be upset when I see people who hardly put any effort at all into meeting people and they have whole families. I give up. I don't care what they say - if u want something badly enough, and it STILL doesn't come ur way, eventually u give up. That's not negativity talking, that's experience. To want nothing but to be on stage, only to be rejected, to want to share my life with someone, only to have absolutely nobody willing to even try.
